Our standard web design process

Content Mapping

Before pushing any pixels in Figma, it’s important that we strategically define the most critical information to convey on each page of the website. Doing so will ensure that key messaging and value propositions are properly prioritized and a cohesive narrative is created across the website design, as well as on each page.

Wireframes & Navigation Concepts

Next, we deliver 2-3 distinct directions for how the website homepage can be laid out, including variations of how a user can maneuver to interior pages from the main navigation menu. These low-fidelity wireframe designs are grayscale so we can focus completely on the content hierarchy and navigability of the site.

User Interface Design

Then we present 2-3 user interface (UI) design concepts, including “mild to wild” explorations of how a client’s brand can be applied to the homepage. These UI concepts determine the overall aesthetic for the full web design. Once the homepage visual design is approved, we begin working through all of the remaining web pages outlined in the site map, including mobile responsive designs.

Motion Graphics & Interaction Design

When appropriate, we design dynamic 3D and motion graphics, animations, and interactive elements that bring the website to life, enhance the experience for users, and effectively communicate brand messaging.

Finalize Content & Development Handoff

Once the full website design is approved, we finalize all remaining content (copy, photography, illustrations, animations, etc). Completed UI designs are annotated with direction for the developers to easily understand. A Figma file is then delivered to the development team for coding.
